Marcel van der Zwan Appointed as New CEO of MTS Euro Products B.V. Founder and Majority Shareholder Gerrit Malipaard Takes on Advisory Role

Maassluis, 13 February 2025 – As of 1 January 2025, Gerrit Malipaard, founder, CEO, and majority shareholder of the family-owned company MTS Euro Products B.V., has officially handed over the day-to-day management of the company to current COO Marcel van der Zwan. Gerrit Malipaard will remain closely involved with Euro Products in an advisory capacity, bringing his extensive knowledge and experience to support the company’s continued development. Chief Commercial Officer Sander Ekhart will continue to serve as the primary point of contact for customers and suppliers. Together, Marcel van der Zwan and Sander Ekhart will further shape the company’s ongoing strategy of growth and professionalization.

And a family business it will remain, as Gerrit Malipaard’s two children, Max and Sophie, are now also actively involved in the company, contributing to its continued growth.

A Source of Pride

Marcel van der Zwan joined Euro Products in April last year as COO and designated successor to Gerrit Malipaard, who, after more than thirty years at the helm, made a conscious decision to step back and spend more time with his family. Gerrit Malipaard looks back with pride on the company’s development over the past decades—a journey that saw Euro Products grow from a small local business with just three employees into a globally active enterprise with 126 staff members.

Marcel van der Zwan held various senior management positions at Rabobank Westland for many years. Since 2008, he has worked at Triple Group as a senior business and financial advisor, and since 2021, he has served as a board member and co-owner. In his role as interim executive for various clients, he was actively involved in implementing growth strategies and initiating change management projects.
